LOS ANGELES (KFSN) -- Fishermen from all over the state will be heading for the Eastern Sierra for the start of trout season.
It looks like a fisherman's dream, but this is no trout stream. It's a run at the San Joaquin fish hatchery. There's more than a million fish here, everything from small fry, to giants.

With the estimated rebound in the fall-run Chinook population three times more than recorded in 2009, the California Fish and Game Commission approved the salmon fishing season which begins July 16 on Sacramento Valley rivers. The rebound in the Chinook salmon population is estimated at 125,000 fish.

A fishing boat overturned in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. Two people have been found dead.
The Emergency Situations Ministry received information that a fishing boat overturned in 10 km from the seashore in the territory of the H.Z.Taghiyev settlement in the Sumgayit city, the Emergency Situations Ministry told Trend.

The dispute over the disappearance of four Indian fishermen and the subsequent recovery of two of their bodies has taken a fresh turn with the relatives of one of the victims claiming that ' a large Sri Lankan Navy vessel' was involved in the initial confrontation.
The allegation had been levelled by the brother of one of the victims who testified at a magisterial inquiry last weekend in Jaffna before the body of one of the fishermen was released to them. Xavier Luman, 38 told the inquiry that he was in one of the 300 odd Indian fishing boats when he witnessed his brother’s boat confronted by what he described as a ‘large Sri Lankan Navy vessel’. He did not specify whether they were in Sri Lankan territorial waters or not.
